SLASH: 'This Is Not VELVET REVOLVER's Last Tour'
March 25, 2008VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash has dismissed reports that the band will split up following its current European trek.
During the band's March 20 concert in Glasgow, singer Scott Weiland apparently told fans they were "watching something special ... the last tour by VELVET REVOLVER."
Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat, Slash said, "Well, let's put it this way this is not VELVET REVOLVER's last tour."
During the same interview, Slash said it is unlikely VELVET REVOLVER will support LED ZEPPELIN on a world tour but has stopped short of ruling it out completely.
Rumors linking the two bands emerged last week after VELVET REVOLVER bassist Duff McKagan said that the band "have" the slot.
But Slash has told Newsbeat the band is concentrating on its next album.
He said: "There's been a huge rumor going around about us opening for them and I think that was something that was taken out of context.
"I think as far as ZEPPELIN doing a tour, that remains to be seen.
"I saw Robert last night [Saturday, March 22] and he's got his solo thing going on and as far as VELVET REVOLVER is concerned, we've got another record to do and we're not even thinking about that."
